Shimadzu RID-10A

The Shimadzu RID-10A is a used refractive index detector designed for integration into Shimadzu Prominence HPLC systems, providing detection for compounds that lack a chromophore and therefore cannot be measured by UV or fluorescence methods. It measures the change in refractive index between the sample stream and a reference flow cell, making it particularly valuable for analyzing sugars, polymers, lipids, and other non UV active analytes. Its stable optical bench and temperature controlled flow cell design support the sensitivity needed for demanding quantitative work. Within an HPLC configuration, the RID-10A is placed at the end of the flow path where it continuously compares sample and reference streams and reports differential signal to the system's data acquisition software for peak analysis.
